Ada H. Petefish, 81, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on December 19, 2017 at the Davis County Hospital. She was born May 19, 1936 in LaGrange, Wyoming to William B. and Dorothy I. Miskimins Stoker. She married John Petefish on June 12, 1955 in Bloomfield. She was a licensed cosmetologist and worked in that field until becoming employed at the Davis County Savings Bank where she worked until her retirement.
In her free time, Ada enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. When her children were younger, she enjoyed going to the timber and having cook outs. She loved spending time with her family and cherished those memories throughout her life. Ada was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband, John Petefish; son, Daniel Petefish of Chicago, Illinois; daughter, Beth (Wes) Andrew of Newton, Iowa; brother, James (May) Stoker; three sisters, Betty (Dick) Ross, Ruth (Chuck) Sumner, Susan (Gerald) Brunk; and sister-in-law, Mary Snoddy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William M. Stoker; and two sisters, Gretchen Hillard, Cynthia Stoker.
Ada's wish was to be cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date. Burial of the cremated remains will be at the IOOF Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the American Home Finding Association located at 217 E. 5th St., Ottumwa, Iowa 52501 and the Friends of the Bloomfield Public Library.
