Your mom was a special lady that always had that sparkle in her eye. May her smile be embedded in your heart to carry you through this time. I am saddened that I can not be there in person for you as a friend, but I am always here for you as a friend. With love Amy

I am SO sorry to hear this! My husband and I were just talking about some of our favorite & most memorable teachers. Anna's name was on "the list". He had the pleasure of meeting her a couple times when she attended our class reunions. She was a classy lady! I know it wasn't easy trying to teach junior high students after fleeing from Cuba to a little town in Iowa, barely speaking English. Her first American class will remember her as we celebrate our 50th class reunion this summer. Sending sympathy & prayers to her family

I remember meeting Ana for the first time when I was in 6th grade Spanish class. She was my Spanish teacher from grades 7-10 in Sigourney. I learned and remembered enough that 3 years later I tested out of beginning college Spanish. I remember singing at her wedding with the high school choir. She was a classy lady.

Señora Peck was one of my favorite teachers at OHS, she was kind, generous, and I so enjoyed her sharp sense of humor. I fondly remember my summer of private Spanish lessons at her house and will never forget her warm smile. My thoughts are with Larry, Lisa Maria and the rest of their family.

I had the good fortune to spend my first years of teaching Spanish at OHS with Ana as a cherished mentor. I couldn't have asked for a better role model. I will always remember the dedication she showed to her students, the teaching profession, and the Spanish language and cultures. My condolences to Larry, Lisa Maria and their family.

Señorita Hernandez was my first Spanish teacher, in Sigourney Elementary School. She was a gentle spirit, still homesick, it seemed to me later, for Cuba. May she rest In peace.

Ana (Miss Hernandez to us) was an angel her whole life. I was in her Spanish class for her one and only year in Sigourney, her first teaching job in the US. Always a Lady and always loved by her kids. Go with God my friend and my teacher. Heaven is a better place with you in it.

I remember Ana Peck coming to Horace Mann and teaching us how to count in Spanish; she was lovely and had a presence- but showed patience and kindness in her insistence we learned correctly. She raised a talented, beautiful and full of life daughter whom i can call friend- for that i am grateful❤️
