Anna Catherine Hansen, 90, of Ottumwa died at 5:40 a.m. February 28, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was born January 30, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to John and Anna Prims Warburton. She married Donald R. Hansen Sr. on September 5, 1948 in Brooklyn. He preceded her in death October 9, 2004.
As a teenager, Anna worked for an insurance company in New York. She worked for F.W. Woolworths, Spurgeon's department store and J.C. Penny.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Questers for a few years. She enjoyed bowling and square dancing with her husband in earlier years. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, working on puzzles, spending time in Branson and raising her African Violets.
Surviving are her four children, Donna (Gaylen) Chesnut of Ankeny, Maryanna (Gary) Lanigan, Donald (Jayne) Hansen Jr. and Robert Leo Hansen all of Ottumwa; seven grandchildren, Chance Chesnut, Carlie Fitzgerald, Jessica VanMaanan, Lora Doty Roberts, Quinn Hansen, Cassandra Hansen and Riley Hansen; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a good friend, Charles Swanson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Carl Warburton.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Fr. Patrick Hilgendorf officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to the St. Patrick Church Altar and Rosary Society.
