Barb  Allison
Barbara Jean Allison, 59, of Ottumwa, died at 10:13 a.m. October 1, 2019 at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
She was born June 29, 1960 in Fairfield to Richard and Dolores "Cub" Leeper Vannoy. Barb married Steve Allison on July 11, 1981.
A 1978 graduate of Pekin High School, Barb graduated from Indian Hills Community College Administrative Assistant program.
She worked for 10 years at People's Savings & Loan. In August of 1989, she began her career at McCune & Reed where she was part owner for 10 years and retired as President in 2019.
Barb was a member of Davis Street Christian Church where she served in the Diaconate and as Financial Secretary, Rotary Club of Ottumwa, served on the Food Bank of Iowa Board, Ottumwa Regional Health Center Board, Ottumwa Water Works Board, City of Ottumwa Finance Committee, a graduate of and served on the Advisory Board for Ottumwa Leadership Academy, Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, IHCC Accounting Assistant Advisory Board and Independent Insurance Committee Educational Committee.
Barb enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Surviving is her husband, Steve; a daughter, Jessica (Nick) McCullen; a grandson, Fenton; two sisters, Susan (Bob) Miller of Ottumwa and Mary (Tom) Snoddy of Vancouver, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Davis Street Christian Church with Pastor James H. Wakelin officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davis Street Christian Church or Wapello County Relay for Life.
