Betty J. Janes, 92, formerly of Bloomfield, Iowa died at 6:22 a.m., March 13, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society Ottumwa, with family by her side.
She was born in Lefor, North Dakota on November 23, 1925 to Carl and Maria Marcs Morel. She lived in North Dakota, California, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming and Iowa. She was a member of the Open Bible Church, Bloomfield, Iowa. She retired from PLEXCO in 1990 after working there for 16 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty jane (Steven) Bell of Ottumwa, Martha Ann Jones of North Liberty, Iowa; two sons, James K. (Debbie) Lewis of Arthur, Nebraska, Daniel P. Lewis of Ottumwa; two brothers; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; son, Delphin E. Lewis; three brothers; two sisters; and five infant siblings.
Betty loved flowers, gardening, helping others, and taking walks.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Charles Courtney officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday with the family present to greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
