Bonnie was the daughter of John Lambert Luko and Aurvilla Ethel Bales, born in Davis County, Iowa. Bonnie graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1951 and she married Michael Gilmer Modrell in Bloomfield on October 15, 1952.
She was a loving, kind-hearted person who grew up on her family farm into a wonderful caring and compassionate lady. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Michael David Modrell and brother-in-law Richard Carothers.
During her career, Bonnie worked for various medical and dental offices, Burlington Medical Center and retired from Burlington Oral Surgeons. Bonnie was a one of a kind, special person. She knew no stranger and would help anyone in need. She loved helping others and was a very giving and generous person.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, served on the Mission board, helped in Vacation Bible School and was very active in her small group, her church and multiple other community and civic organizations and clubs over the years. She faithfully volunteered each week, served others, and made the world a better place just by being in it. Bonnie loved spending time with her family, visiting with her friends, serving God and enjoying life.
