Bonnie Jean Stephenson was born on October 23, 1942 in Iowa City, IA to Harley and Lena Reser Essary. Her early years were spent in Batavia, IA where she attended school. On May 6, 1961, at her parents home, Bonnie was united in marriage to Ronald Gene Stephenson. The two soon began a family, and Bonnie assumed the role of loving mother and wife. They became the proud parents to three children; Ron Jr., Tony, and Laura. Bonnie loved being a stay at home mom and the time it allowed her to watch her children grow. As the children grew older and became more independent, Bonnie entered the workforce. She began working for Plexco in Fairfield and remained with the company for 18 years, retiring in 1996. Bonnie had a love and talent for quilting and sewing. She made many quilts throughout her life. Bonnie would show the completed quilts to her husband Gene who always replied, Thats a keeper. She took pride in her flowers and caring for her garden. Bonnie was a member of the Living Hope Bible Church where she was active in Helping Hands. She was a caring person who will be deeply missed by her many family and friends.
