Kenneth Charles Charlie Warner Jr., 80, of Bonaparte, Iowa passed away on January 7, 2019 at the Van Buren County Hospital. He was born October 24, 1938 in Bonaparte to Kenneth Charles Sr. and Mary Lane Warner. He graduated from Bonaparte High School in 1956 and then attended Iowa State University. After graduating from Iowa State in 1960 with a degree in animal science, he returned to Bonaparte and a lifetime of farming and community activities.

In 1962, Charlie married Margaret Marlette. Their children were Kenneth Chuck, Jennifer, John, and Daniel. They divorced in 1976. In 1979, he married Charla Carson Williams and became dad to Alan, Susan, and Lori Williams.

Charlie was a 50-year-member of the Bonaparte and later Keosauqua Masonic Lodge #10. He served on the Harmony School Board, State Central Bank Board of Directors - Bonaparte office, Van Buren County Appraiser Board, was an elder for the Presbyterian Church in Bonaparte, and spent 19 years on the Rathbun Regional Water Board. Charlie served in the Army Reserves from 1956-1962.

He is survived by his wife, Charla Warner of Bonaparte; children, Chuck (Pam) Warner of Bonaparte, Jennifer (Bill) Balcerzak of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Alan Williams of Somerset, Wisconsin, Susan Hines of Bonaparte, Lori (Steve) Loyd of Fairfield, Iowa, John (Renee) Warner of Bonaparte; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel Warner; and granddaughter, Jessica Warner.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Bonaparte United Church with Pastor Mike Elrod and Rev. ellis andrews officiating. Burial will be at the Bonaparte Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday with masonic services performed by Keosauqua Lodge #10 A.F. & A.M. at 5:00 p.m., followed by visitation with family present to greet friends until 7:00 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.
