Dale Edward Wemer died Oct. 19, 2017, at age 63. Lost a short battle with lung cancer in Pleasanton, Cal. He was born Dec. 3, 1953, in Ottumwa to Norman Gerald Wemer and Betty Louise McReynolds. Dale was married to Diane Pitts for 27 years. A 1972 graduate of OHS, he worked 32 years with Union 400 as a cement finisher. His stepson Joseph was also a cement finisher. He had six grandchildren, Andrew, Sena, Amanda, Seta, Adam, Joseph Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two half brothers, Jimmey, Richard Krayenhagen.
Surviving four sisters, DeLoris (Dale) De Kraai, Patricia (Scott) Gray, Rhonda (Frank) Peres, Carol (Lisa) Bradley; seven brothers, Norman Jr. (Katie) Wemer, Donald David (Judy) Wemer, Doug (Teri) Wemer, Dennis (Vickie) Wemer, Duane, Terry (Jacalyn) Wemer.
Dale volunteered at Asbury Church and Open Heart Kitchen. He was always pitching and lending a helping hand.
His best skills were being a good husband, father and grandfather. Dale also enjoyed skating, water and snow skiing.
His remains will be buried at sea. He will be missed.
