Danny L. Weaver, 64, Leawood, Kansas, passed away March 6, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospice House. He was the son of Lavern L. and Freda Weaver, born May 27, 1952. He had suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm on Feb. 17. He put up a valiant fight but the damage proved too great.
As a young boy, he was active in sports, especially baseball and basketball. He was a Boy Scout and earned their highest award, Eagle. He graduated Urbandale High School and University of Iowa. He had been a CPA in Kansas City the last 30-some years. He was active in many civic clubs, especially Harvesters, an organization dedicated to serving the hungry. He was on the Harvester board more than 20 years and served as president of the board of directors.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; his son Nick and Kelsey, Paige and Charles Thomeczeh of Leawood; his mother, Freda Weaver of Ottumwa; his brother, Greg (Marisela) of Houston, Texas; and his sister Leanne Weaver of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lavern Weaver; and infant brother Roger Lee of Ottumwa and many cousins and friends.
Funeral services were in Leawood March 10 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. McGilley State Line Chapel assisted the family.
Danny was a happy, enthusiastic and generous person. He loved to travel, see the horse races and NASCAR. He was a blessing upon everyone whose life he touched. He will be missed!
