Donna P. Gardner, 88, of Ottumwa, died at 6:20 p.m. November 19, 2017 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born November 30, 1928 in rural Ottumwa to Roy O. and Maude Opal Major Renfrew. She married Lorin M. Henry in 1947 and they later divorced. She married Olen H. "Bud" Gardner on June 30, 1962 and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2001.
Donna was a 1947 graduate of Ottumwa High School and a graduate of Indian Hills Community College.
She was a member of Willard St. United Methodist Church, where she was very active singing in the choir for 40 years. Donna worked with a Bible Study group at her church, crocheting clothing for missions. She was also a member of United Methodist Women and Merry Homemakers and volunteered for the SE Iowa Blood Bank.
Surviving are her children, Phillip Henry of Ottumwa, Kay Gardner of Noblesville, IN and Benita Lowe of Ottumwa; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Bill and Mark; a grandson, Jason Gardner; two brothers, Richard and Wayne Renfrew and two sisters Jean Edgerton and Reva Holzhauser.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Leila Disburg officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to the family.
