Dorothy Griffin, 91, of Ottumwa died at 8:35 a.m. August 25, 2017 at Good Samaritan Society - Ottumwa.
She was born November 10, 1926 in Munterville, IA to Emmett and Minnie Sandeen Anderson. She married John William Joseph "Joe" Griffin on June 29, 1945. He preceded her in death June 1, 2000.
A graduate of Blakesburg High School, she worked at Winblade Grocery, Harrington Plumbing & Heating and Ottumwa Janitorial Service. She sold Avon for 35 years where she was a member of the Presidents Club.
Dorothy was a member of the First Congregational Church then the First Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed animals, horses, gardening and flowers, especially her irises.
Surviving are her son, John (Barbara) Griffin of Burlington and daughter, Judith Lee of Ottumwa; four grandchildren, David Griffin of Iowa City, Sarah (Dillen) Sreeby of Raymore, MO, Kristina Vest (Jason Phillips) of Ottumwa and Janice Lee of Des Moines; three sisters, Karen (James) Archer of Des Moines, Janice (Marty) Genochio of Burlington and Phyllis Regnoir of Huron, SD.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Darrell and Jerry Anderson and her dog, Clyde.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Blakesburg Cemetery.
