Douglas Hubert Hoffman, 46, of Hainesville, IL and formerly of Bloomfield, died December 25, 2017 at his home. He was born April 5, 1971 in Bloomfield to Willis Ward and Carol Crist Hoffman.
Doug graduated as salutatorian from Davis County High School in 1989. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degree from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. He earned his PhD in Regulatory Science from University of Southern California. He was a member of RhoChi Society - Delta Chapter, Phi Lambda Sigma - Beta Epsilon Chapter and the Chicago-Iowa Club as well and the University of Iowa Alumni.
For most of his working career, he lived in the Chicago-land area. He worked and lived in California for several years before moving back to Chicago 8 years ago. He was currently a Senior Associate of Global Regulatory Affairs for Hospira, working in international compliance.
Surviving is his mother, Carol Hoffman of Bloomfield; a sister, Colleen (Scott) Baird of Ottumwa; a brother, Brian Hoffman of Ottumwa; a niece and nephew, Kimberlee Baird (Will Farrell) and Justin Baird both of Ottumwa; a great nephew, Emmett Ayala.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Hoffman; grandparents, Hubert Crist, Edith Orman Crist, John Hoffman and Merle Phillippe Hoffman.
His body has been cremated. Graveside memorial services will be held at Floris Cemetery at a later date.
