Earl Schindler Earl Laverne Schindler, 92, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on October 3, 2018 at the Bloomfield Care Center. He was born August 29, 1926 in Davis County, Iowa to Clarence Irwin and Lora Hazel Widner Schindler. He married Evelyn Luke on July 13, 1946 in Bloomfield. Earl was a farmer then worked as a prison guard in Fort Madison for awhile before becoming a truck driver. He then worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation, retiring in 1986.

In his free time, Earl enjoyed woodworking, restoring antique furniture, gardening, fishing, and tending to his orchard. Earl and Evelyn were members of the Laplanders Motorcycle Club and are current members of the Pulaski Mennonite Church. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Schindler; three daughters, Shirley (C.J.) Couvillion of Van Meter, Iowa, Carolyn (Marvin) Pickrell of Zephyrhills, Florida, Sandy (Doug) Krogh of Douglas, Wyoming; devoted niece, Deb (Richard) Schindler-Grim of Bloomfield; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Luke Schindler of Agency, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, John Lowell Schindler; two brothers, Floyd Schindler, Harold (Sherleen) Schindler; sister, Mildred (Don) Sample; and a brother-in-law, Wayne (Sharlene) Luke.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Pulaski Mennonite Church with Pastor Darrell Zook and Bill Baughman officiating. Burial will be at the Pulaski Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday with the family present to greet friends from 2-4:00 p.m. at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
