Geraldine "Jerry" Dougherty, 96, of Ottumwa, passed away at 5:45 a.m. June 25, 2017 at the Haven in Ottumwa.
She was born November 30, 1920 in Ottumwa to Lee and Elva Barr Burgher. She married Vincent A. Dougherty on May 18, 1957. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2012.
She had worked for John Morrell & Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1973.
Surviving is a step- daughter, Julie (Gary) Cooper of Pleasant Hill; three grandchildren, Katie (Bret) VandeLune of Prairie City, Mitchell (Jessica) Cooper of Madrid, Spain and Laura (Nathan) Cook of Pleasant Hill; 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Authrine Beeler and Gretchen Adkins both of Lancaster, MO.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Bryan, Norman, Ralph, Grover and Kermit Burgher; two sisters, Helen Burgher and Marjorie Smith.
Her body has been cremated.
Graveside services and inurnment will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday July 11, 2017 at Memorial Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Jane Martinez officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Society Hospice or The Haven at Pennsylvania Place.
