Jack Edwin Guest, 89, of Arlington,Va died on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at The Halquist Hospice of Capital Caring.
Jack was born on November 24, 1927 in Ottumwa, Iowa, son of the late John Guest and Alice Maud Dickins Guest. He was a 1945 graduate of Ottumwa High School in Iowa. He was also in the Navy from Nov. 1945 to Oct. 1952 and achieved the rank of Yeoman Third Class. After retiring from the Sheet Metal Union Local 100 where he was a past Business Manager, he worked as a Real Estate agent for a number of years.
Some of his memberships included the Nat'l. Rifle Association, over 50 years with Local 100, Past Treasurer of the North American Section of the Alvis Owner Club (UK) and Publisher of the North American Section Bulletin. In past years he ran a 1950 Alvis TA 14 saloon. His hobbies and interests included reading, dogs, thieves markets, and he was a British classic car enthusiast. Jack was a person that never met a stranger and was friendly and helpful to all he knew.
Jack was the seventh of eight children and the last remaining member of his immediate family. He is survived by one sister-in-law, Mrs. Richard (Donna) Guest, numerous nieces and nephews, and very caring friends, Paul Onstad and David Lewis.
He was a Roman Catholic and a Memorial mass will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Capital Caring, 4715 15th St. North, Arlington, Va 22205.
