Judy Elaine Emery, 72, formerly of rural Ottumwa, died at 5:25 a.m. October 28, 2017 at Good Samaritan Society - Ottumwa.
She was born May 15, 1945 in Mahaska County to Donald and Mabel Hull Hammond. She married Brian L. Emery July 12, 1964. He preceded her in death February 1, 2005.
Judy graduated from Hedrick High School and the American Institute of Business. She worked at Norwest Bank, as Highland Township Clerk, as Secretary of McCormick Cemetery, at John Deere Ottumwa Works and at the ASCS office as well as farmed with her husband.
She was a member of Christ's Church, Iowa Pork Producers and was a 4-H Leader. She enjoyed crafts, music, oil painting and traveling. Her family was dearest to her heart.
Surviving are two sons, Jeff (Cindy) Emery of Ottumwa and Terry (Melanie) Emery of Topeka, KS; 7 grandchildren, Courtney, Cody, Hailey, Kayla, Austin, Colton and Kaitlyn; 3 great-grandchildren, Lexi, Avyn and Jake; a sister, Shirley (Dennis) Dillon of Muscatine; a niece, Debra (Joel) VanOrnam of Omaha, NE; 4 great nieces and great nephews, Emily, Dillon, Franco and Zoa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in McCormick Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
