Prior to completing her MA degree in Global Management and International Finance at the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Scottsdale, AZ, Karen worked at Manufacturer's Hanover Trust in New York City. She was later employed by United Airlines in Chicago, IL as a Sales Representative for 28 years.
Residing in Mt. Prospect, IL, Karen was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington, Heights, IL. She traveled extensively and enjoyed needlework as well as spending time with her family and friends. Her body has been cremated. Graveside services and inurnment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Nantucket, MA later this summer. A celebration of her life will be held in the Chicagoland area at a future date.

My dear, sweet friend. I will treasure our wonderful memories forever. You always put others first and yourself second. I’lll never forget our frequent shopping expeditions and Cheesecake Factory “layovers “.And above all ...the strength and fortitude that you’ve given me to fight this scourge that we both suffered from. Will always miss our marathon phone chats. Godspeed my dearest sweetest friend. Joe
