Lanore's Story

Lanore M. Hepker, 89, formerly of Ottumwa, died December 19, 2017 at her home in Nixa, MO.
She was born August 29, 1928 in Davis County, IA to Dennis and Mabel Sloan Garmon. She married Rev. Loyal Hepker on November 15, 1946 in Drakesville and he preceded her in death on June 9, 2013.
Lanore was a graduate of Unionville High School in Unionville, IA.
She was a member of East End Pentecostal Church of God in Ottumwa where her husband was pastor for 50 years. They had worked as volunteers for Indian Missions helping to build over 200 churches.
Surviving is her daughter, Martha Stufflebeam of North Richland Hills, TX; 2 granddaughters, Rhonda Foster of Springfield, MO and Nicole (Alan) Shinebarger of Nixa, MO; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Garmon of Muscatine; two sisters, Alice McFarland of Bettendorf and Norma Randolph of Omaha, NE.
She was preceded in death by half-sisters, Ruth Moore, Edith Stufflebeam and Lois McGee.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Mosier officiating. Burial will be in West Grove Cemetery.
Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Memorials may be made to Indian Missions.
