LINNEA's Story

Linnea Sue Snelling Reid, daughter of Charles and Pauline Snelling passed away in Pahoa, Hawaii, on October 18, 2017 and is survived by sister Elizabeth Ann Snelling Phillips. A Celebration of Life Service - Hawaiian Ceremony was performed by Kahuna Felward Kahakelii on October 31, 2017 at the Kalani Point in Pahoa Hawaii.
She graduated from Ottumwa High School receiving a B.A. and M.A from Arizona State University focusing on special education. She also studied at National University, Melbourne, Australia, Aborigine Cultures, and University of Hawaii Honolulu, Oceanography.
She married Robert Louis Reid in 1963 and was married 9 years. Linnea was a special education teacher at Phoenix's Washington School District and Kamahamaha High School and work with the United Nations to assist children.
She was part owner of "Light and Sound Research, Inc." and owner of "Desert Van's" a van conversions shop.
She advocated for many good causes throughout the Big Island.
A good, bright soul is gone but working for all of us on the other side.
