Lois Anne Wintermote, 81, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on January 2, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. She was born December 17, 1936 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Harry and Mary Sutton Parker. She married H. Rex Wintermote on October 23, 1955 at the Bloomfield Christian Church. Rex passed away on February 20, 2015.
Lois graduated from Davis County High School in 1955. She worked at the OBrian Drug Store, owned and operated Wintermote Fabrics for 29 years, and retired from Pamida in Bloomfield. She enjoyed being outdoors gardening, shopping, traveling, and socializing with her many friends. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family.
She was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce while she owned Wintermote Fabrics on the Bloomfield Square.
She is survived by two children, Kim (John) Deland, Troy (Phyllis) Wintermote both of Bloomfield; four grandchildren, Spencer Wintermote of Florida, Alyssa (Austin) Swaim of Drakesville, Brittany (Clayton) Hopkins of Bloomfield, Donovan Wintermote of Florida; seven very special great-grandchildren, Ty, Bryc, Corbyn Swaim, Payson Wintermote, Tryton and Baxter Hopkins, Cale Wintermote; and two sisters, Wilma Veatch of Washington, Iowa, Louise Minks of Bloomfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three siblings, Delton Parker, Vivian Cheek, and Carol Snyder.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Bloomfield Christian Church with Rev. Jack Knox officiating. Inurnment of the cremated remains will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield at a later date. Visitation will from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on that Saturday at the church. Memorials have been established to the Bloomfield Christian Church, Good Samaritan Society Hospice, or the donors choice.
