Mary Josephine "Jo" Saner Morrow, 93, of Moulton, Iowa passed away February 8, 2018 at the Monroe Care Center in Albia, Iowa. She was born August 15, 1924 in Douds, Iowa to Howard LaVern and Eva Blanche Yates Saner. Her family moved to Farmington, Iowa where she attended grade school then moved to Bloomfield for a short period of time, then moved to the Moulton-Udell area where she attended school and graduated in 1942.
Jo was united in marriage to Rolla Robert "Bob" Morrow on January 24, 1943 in Burlington, Iowa. They lived in Des Moines for a short period of time as he was enrolled in the service to be stationed in Battle Creek, Michigan. After a period of time, they moved back to Moulton where they made their permanent home. To this union a daughter was born, Shawna Renee Morrow. Jo and Bob celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on January 24, 2018.
Jo loved her family and was a very caring mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Moulton Christian Church and helped with many of the Mother/Daughter Banquets at church. She always made sure her family was well cared for. She loved playing cards, especially Crazy 8's, and would often say "No Cheating." She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her macaroni and cheese and her lovely angel food cakes.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Shawna (Marvin) Martin of Centerville; four grandchildren, Shanee (Noah) Aljets of Ottumwa, Iowa, Amy (Mark) Robinson of Albia, Iowa, Bradley Martin of Centerville, Iowa, Kylee Martin of Ottumwa, Iowa; five great-grandchildren, Kennedy Seddon, Josie Aljets, Avery Aljets all of Ottumwa, Caelan and Emilee Robinson of Albia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Howard LaVern Saner.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Dunnville Baptist Church with Marvin Martin and Kylee Martin officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be at the Sunset View Cemetery in Moulton at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
