Mildred and Melvin were very active in many organizations. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia, the Trinity United Methodist Women, a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, and Social Order of the Bosiant, and also was on the Monroe County Hospital Auxiliary. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and she enjoyed reading, canvas embroidery, bowling, playing kismet dice, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Mildred is survived by her children, Ruth Pfaff of Peterson, Patty Hoelzel and Ray Gardner of Albia, Dianne (Jim) Woollums of Albia, Carol (Dan) Hansen of Slater, Ralph (Lori) Sickels of Albia, Karen (Pat) Dinneen of Albia, twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Ronnie (Linda) Woodcock, and daughter-in-law, Mickie Sickels of Albia. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hazel Henton, husband, Melvin; son, Ronald Sickels, grandson, Gregory Pfaff; two granddaughters, Jenna Hoelzel and Nicole Conley; siblings, Joe Henton as an infant, Mae Perkins, Jean Henton, Richard Henton, and two son-in-laws, Gary Pfaff and Rob Hiatt.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia with Rev. Roger Henry officiating. A funeral luncheon will follow services at the church with burial in Oak View Cemetery in Albia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, opening to the public at 1:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. Memorials may be directed to Lewy Body Dementia, or Trinity United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be left for the family at sinnottfuneralhome.com.
