Pauline Jane Hotek, 90, of 2744 N. Court Rd., died December 28, 2017 at home.
She was born March 14, 1927 in Earlville, IA to Mark P. and Peggy Kahler Smith. She married Bill Hotek on February 1, 1947 in Ft. Dodge.
A 1944 graduate of Otho High School, Pauline had been a resident of Ottumwa since 1989. She had worked as a teacher's associate for Freeport Community School District in Freeport, IL.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Visitation. Pauline enjoyed gardening, indoor flowers, sewing and crocheting.
Surviving is her husband, Bill; her children, David Hotek of Clarendon Hills, IL, Tim (Denise) Hotek of Ottumwa, Terri Hotek (Mark Hoffman) of Bloomfield, Doug Hotek of Waterloo, Rod (Hope) Hotek of Birmingham, Nick Hotek of Iowa City, Ed Hotek of Fairfield and Andy (Tammy) Hotek of Oskaloosa; 14 grandchildren, Amanda Burnett, Melissa Linebaugh, Spencer Hotek, Kirsten Eckert, Eli Hoffman, Danica Hoffman, Leanne Hotek, Taylor Hotek, Joseph Hotek, Matt Hotek, Cole Hotek, Kiefer Hotek, Jazmine Hotek and Zac Hotek; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delpha Schuster and Phyllis Schumacher and a brother, Paul Smith.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Leland, Vince and Dennis Smith.
Her body has been cremated.
