Penny L. Waldren, 68, of 119 S. Ash St., died at 9:45 p.m. May 20, 2017 at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
She was born June 8, 1948 in Centerville to Clarence Raymond and Geraldine Richmond Stockton. She married Roger Waldren in August of 1991.
A 1966 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Penny had attended Faith Baptist College in Ankeny. She had worked for the Ottumwa schools administrative office and for Habitat for Humanity.
She was a founding board member of Jacob's Gift and shared her love of scripture while mentoring many women over the years.
Surviving is a daughter, Angela (Jon) Pedersen of Ottumwa; three sons, Christopher (Melinda) Manus of Pasadena, CA, James Manus of Dallas, TX, and Matthew (Gia) Manus of Los Angeles, CA; eight grandchildren, Jonathan, Samuel and Emma Pedersen, Ainsley, Tilli, Sophia, Cozette and Atreyu Manus; two step-children, Jennifer (Matt) Stookey and Mike Waldren; three step-grandchildren, Skyler, Savannah and Zander; two brothers, Mike (Sue) Stockton of Ottumwa and Pat (Jane) Stockton of Knoxville, IA; an aunt, Sue Ann (Wayne) Veach of Centerville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall and Pastor Roger Hemmings officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Livonia, MO.
Visitation will begin 11 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Jacob's Gift.
