Phillip's Story

Phillip Lee King, 69, formerly of Blakesburg, Iowa, died Sunday, January 7, 2018 in Independence, Oregon. Phil was the beloved husband of his wife of 29 years, Susie King. He will be lovingly remembered by his step-daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Jerry Dutton of Monmouth, Oregon and two grandsons, Hunter Helton and Gavin Dutton. He is survived by his brother, Gary King (Linda Ludwig) of Ottumwa, Iowa and Judy (Stephen) King of Johnston, Iowa. He has two nieces Nancy (Mike) Olson of Grimes, Iowa; and Jennifer (Nick) Adams of Ames, Iowa; and a great niece and great nephew. Phil was predeceased by his two brothers, Stephen King and David King, and his parents, Betty and Floyd King.
Phil had many accomplishments throughout his life. He was a veteran of the Navy for six years during the Vietnam War. He worked as an Electronics Engineer for over 25 years in the gaming industry in Las Vegas, Nevada until he retired to Oregon.
We welcome friends and family to join us for a Celebration of Phils Life and luncheon, held from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, April 15, 2018 at Bridge View Center, 102 Church St, Ottumwa, IA. His funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, April 16, 2018 at Shaul Cemetery, 1339 Bluegrass Rd, Ottumwa, IA.
