Randy  Mabeus


Randy Lee Mabeus, 66, of Ottumwa died at 9:02 a.m. June 1, 2019 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center
He was born September 9, 1952 in Burlington to Earl H. and Norma Stafford Mabeus. He married Marsha Rash August 31, 1994.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School, Randy operated Premo Tropicals bait and fish shop. He moved to Las Vegas, NV for a short time. Moving back to Ottumwa, he owned and operated Randy Mabeus Septic Tank and Drain Cleaning.
Randy loved being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing trips to Branson and teaching his granddaughter to fish. He also enjoyed playing pool, cards, attending auctions and working in the yard.
Surviving is his wife, Marsha; a step-daughter, Wendy Watters (Donald McMartin) of Ottumwa; three grandchildren, Taylor, Kayla and Cassidy; his mother, Norma Mabeus; his siblings, Patricia Plummer of Pendleton, IN, Cindy Voss of Ottumwa, Doug (Joan) Mabeus of Woodstock, GA, Don Mabeus of Castle Rock, CO and Rusty Mabeus of Ottumwa; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl; a brother-in-law, Butch Voss; two nephews, Joe Heusner and Nicholas Mabeus; and his dog, Keesha.
Graveside services and interment will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Burge Cemetery west of New London, IA.
Visitation will be open after 11 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Per Randy's request, the casket will remain closed.
Memorials may be made to the family.

Randy was a good friend and he always was willing to lend a hand.
He helped me many times.
I remember him from our high school days he was a fun guy to be around.
He will be missed.

A special memory to me was coming to visit for a week with my granddaughter, Em. Taylor was also there. Randy colored, drew and put puzzles together every day. He played cards and took time with them each day. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. He always lended a helping hand to anyone that needed him. Rest easy in heaven Randy.
