Richard Jones

Richard William "Dick" Jones Sr., 80, of Ottumwa died at 6:25 a.m. November 3, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society - Ottumwa.
He was born September 1, 1938 in Ottumwa to Henry and Margaret Thompson Jones. He married Sally I. Rominger June 30, 1962.
Having served in the U.S. Army, he worked over 30 years at John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring in 1994.
Richard was a member of Ottumwa Masonic Lodge #16 A.F. & A.M.
Surviving is his wife, Sally; two daughters, Renee (Kermit) Smith of Burlington and Robin Ehrenhard (Tracy McNamer) of Ottumwa; a son, Richard (Linda) Jones Jr. of Ottumwa; 7 grandchildren, Heather, Jenny, Journey, Tyler, Spencer, Kamber and Alison; 5 great grandchildren, Raina, Asa, Xavier, Chanel and Ziza; 2 sisters, Shirley Celania of Houston, TX and Anita Shullaw of LaPorte, TX; a brother, Mark Mace of Arkansas City, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Jones.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with his nephew, Rev. Albert Bennett officiating. Military services will be conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion. Entombment will be in Shrine of Memories Mausoleum.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday. A Masonic Service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home followed with visitation with the family present until 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties.

Sally & family,
So sorry to hear of Dick's passing. Have a lot of good memories from when your family and ours ran around together and camping trips. You're in my prayers.

i rember when dick, came over to our house on main street and helped me put my electric train together. i looked up to my big brother and loved him very much.i well miss him.RIP dick.
