Rose died unexpectedly Friday, June 23, 2017 at Genesis Medical Center East Campus, following an aggressive cancer diagnosis.  She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing.
Rosemary Jean Bayliss was born May 28, 1948 in Washington, IA, a daughter of Leonard and Rosella (Sieren) Bayliss.  Upon graduating from Keota High School she started studies for her nursing career. She attended Saint Joseph's School of Nursing in Ottumwa, IA, University of Illinois, UCLA and the Kentucky School of Nurse Midwifery.  Rose dedicated her career to helping deliver life; she cherished each experience of assisting women and families in the miracle of life.  She had worked for Trinity and Genesis Medical Center's Labor and Delivery Departments locally and had been a professor at Saint Ambrose University.  She loved her career and was a true inspiration to her children and colleagues with her work ethic, something she learned from growing up on the farm.
Rose was united in marriage to David Mark Hasenmiller on December 4, 1982 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church.  They were blessed with nearly 35 years of marriage.
Work was a true passion of Rose's, but when she did decide to slow down, she loved spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed time spent at the family lake house with her daughters and David. Another interest was continuing her education. Hours of research and writing were spent towards earning her PhD. Work was a true commitment and hobby.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, David, and daughters, Claire Hasenmiller (and partner Ryan), Bettendorf, and Liz (Matt) Sagar, Winona, MN; mother Rosella Bayliss, Keota, Iowa; and siblings, Joyce Cherne, her twin, Richard (Cyndy) Bayliss, Thomas Bayliss (and partner Sally), Donald (Renita) Bayliss, Gary (Joen) Bayliss, Janet (Paul) Jacobs, and Carol (Chris) Jacobsen.  Also surviving are numerous loving nieces and nephews; her mother-in-law, Mercedes Hasenmiller, and sisters-in-law, Janet (Bruce) Gosser, Heidi (Scott) Walker, Ann Hupp, and Mo Noth.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard and her father-in-law, Robert Hasenmiller.  May they rest in peace.
Memorials can be made to the Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
