Rosie Ada Morrow, 89, of Ottumwa, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2017 at Vista Woods Care Center.
She was born on February 14, 1928 in Clarkdale, IA to Francisco and Carmella Calfo Mascaro. She married Loren Morrow on June 21, 1947 at St. Mary's Rectory in Ottumwa. He preceded her in death in August of 1977.
Rosie worked at Iowa Steam Laundry, The Pink Pig and John Morrell & Co. She was a member of St. Mary of the Visitation, St. Mary Altar & Rosary Society and had been a member of TOPS. She served on many PTA boards and was an avid bowler. She also excelled at bingo and was very lucky with it. Later, she sang with Marie Brooks' band, "Silver Strings" and visited many nursing homes throughout the area. She also enjoyed cooking and made many a lasagna for family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Jan), Kathi (Martin), Mike, John (Katie), Karen (Mark), Jeff and Steven; grandchildren, Robin, Chad, Christa, Sarah, Martin, Jennifer, Ryan, Trevor, Wendy and Harry; great-grandchildren, Nick, Gabrielle, Tanner, Alex, Grace, Liam, Penelope, Alex, Bryce, Lauren, Marty and Tommy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Phillip, Victor, Charles and Orlando; sisters, Mary, Bridget and Pauline; and her granddaughter who was raised in her home, Adie.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Visitation with Father James Betzen CPPS presiding. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday followed by family visitation until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
