Please accept my condolences at the loss of Mrs. Seim. She was my first piano teacher and was firm but patient about my lack of practice. And going into her beautiful home each week was a treat!

Ruth was so very kind to me as a student teacher in her music classroom. She taught me so much about how to manage a classroom, and how to care for all of the students too. My sympathies to her family.

To Ruth's Family, Shirley and I were so saddened on learning of Ruth's passing. She was our inspiration many times as we shared our experiences as music instructors in the Ottumwa schools. She was no doubt the most positive and energetic music teacher we had the pleasure of knowing. When she and Michael Philipsen accompanied the "Hallelujah Chorus"at our Christmas concert we were always assured that all would go well. Many times when we needed a copy of a particular piece of music we would simply call Ruth --she always had what we needed--wow! what a music library. I recall one winter night I called her to get the words to "Frosty the Snowman". She was in the midst of hosting a party,... but kindly took the time to sing the words over the phone as I wrote them down. That's dedication. Ruth - one of a kind - so very knowledgeable - so upbeat and pleasant to visit with - so willing to help - a wonderful colleague and friend. God bless, Merlin and Shirley SchneiderRead more
