Ruthanne Taylor Ruthanne Taylor, 95, of Ottumwa died at 9:35 a.m. November 28, 2018 at Vista Woods Care Center.
She was born December 23, 1922 in Boone, IA to Mansfield and Vera Fehleisen Herrald. She married Phil Taylor Sr. on February 29, 1948 and he preceded her in death December 5, 2004.
A graduate of Boone High School and Coe College, she taught drama and speech at Winterset High School and Ottumwa High School.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Shakespeare Club, Art Club, P.E.O. Chapter HQ, Order of Eastern Star and Wapello White Shrine #4. Ruthanne and her husband were also members of the National and Iowa Coca-Cola Collectors Clubs.
Surviving are three children, Jan (John) Lloyd of Osceola, IA, Phil (Kathy) Taylor Jr. of Ottumwa and Debbie (John) Huffman of Ottumwa; five grandchildren, Bryan Lloyd of Osceola, Lauren (Ben) Lewis of Minneapolis, MN, Lily (Andy) Swedenhjelm of Newton, Jennifer Huffman of Kansas City, KS and John Taylor Huffman of Denver, CO; two great grandchildren, Kayden Lloyd and Laina Lewis.
She was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Amy Huffman and a brother, Wes Herrald.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
Visitation will be open after 11 a.m. Friday with the family present from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Vista Woods Employee's Appreciation Fund, Vista Woods Care Center, #3 Pennsylvania Place, Ottumwa, IA 52501or Hospice serving Davis and Wapello Counties, 927 Pennsylvania Ave. Ottumwa, IA 52501.
