Shalynn Marie Carlo, 24, of Ottumwa, died December 15, 2017 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born March 5, 1993 in Ottumwa to David Andrew and Sherri Jean Scott Carlo.
Growing up, Shalynn danced at Potpourri Dance Studio and participated in youth league bowling. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 2011 where she was a member of the stage crew for the show choir. As a teenager, she volunteered for numerous years at Ottumwa Regional Health Center in the gift shop. She had worked at J.C. Penney's, the south McDonalds and was currently working at T.L.C.
She was involved with Hogs4Dogs and loved spending time with family and friends.
Surviving is a daughter, Katherine Ila Lobaugh; her parents, David and Sherri Carlo; grandparents, Gene and Mary Scott of Ottumwa, Jacki and Gail Carlo of Fairfield Bay, AR; a sister, Alicia Jade (Karl) Moritz of Stanhope, IA; a niece, Kallie Jean Moritz; aunts and uncles, Doug Carlo, Denise (Rick) Scott, Lizabeth Carlo, Shelli (Randy) Clark; ten cousins and a special friend, Alex Lobaugh.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation will begin 11 a.m. Tuesday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shalynn's parents for an educational fund to be set up for her daughter, Katherine.
