Shirley Maxine King, 83, of Ottumwa, died at 10:48 a.m. October 16, 2017 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born July 11, 1934 in Bunch, IA to C. Wesley and Grace Albright Moore. She married John Hopkins and they divorced. She married Delmer King on November 26, 1983 and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2015.
A graduate of Bloomfield High School, she had worked at John Morrell & Co. Shirley enjoyed painting and gardening.
Surviving are her children, Douglas (Mary) Hopkins of Pella, Vicky (Kim) Ballew of Phoenix, AZ and Jewel Nelson of Ottumwa; step-daughter, Vonda K. Rohrer of Ottumwa; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Hopkins; a step-son, Robert A. King; sisters, Fern Lippert, Betty West, Martha Arnold and Carolyn Gosser and brother, Clell Moore.
He body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Hornback officiating. Inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery.
