Steve R. Gullett, 65, of Ottumwa, died November 21, 2017 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center from complications of a long time illness.
He was born August 3, 1952 in Ottumwa to Larry and Barbara Dunham Gullett, the oldest of 5 boys.
He married Bette Vittetoe in 1975 and they later divorced in 1987.
Steve worked construction on the Ottumwa Generating Station and later took a job there in maintenance, retiring in 2013 with 33 years of service.
Steve's passion in life was spending time with his son and grandson. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and enjoyed shooting billiards with his brother, Craig.
Steve was a long time member of Christ's Church.
Surviving is his son, Sean and grandson, Tarren of Hillsboro, WI; three brothers, Craig and Jeff both of Ottumwa, Mike (Tammy) of Ackworth, 4 nieces, Kristi, Stacey, Diana and Joy and 2 nephews, Raymond and Jesse.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a baby brother, Ronald Lee Gullett.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Friday with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to Christ's Church.
