Harold Steven Sevier, 68, of Ottumwa died at 2:45 a.m. February 28, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
He was born August 27, 1949 in Ventura, CA to James and Elvira Sevier.
A graduate of Rio Mesa High School in El Rio, CA, Steve worked for the Bloomfield Foundry and 35 years at Clow Valve Foundry from where he retired.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, spending time outdoors and riding his motorcycle.
Surviving are 6 children; Stephanie (Curtis) Bybee of Oxnard, CA, James Sevier of Ohio, Patricia "P.J." Sevier of Texas, Donnie (Gloria) Sevier of Ottumwa, Lesley (Lester) Washington of Ottumwa and Sonya (Bryan) Babcock of Ottumwa; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; his mother, Elvira "Grandma Boots" Sevier of Bakersfield, CA; 4 brothers, James Sevier, John Randy Sevier, Adam Sevier all of California and Charles Sevier of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Ellenberger officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
