Virginia Rosalie Cloyed, age 90, of Moravia, went to live with Jesus on January 10, 2018. Virginia was born on December 27, 1926, in Eddyville, IA, to Hollis and Mary (Linderman) Campbell. She graduated from Moravia Community High School in 1945. She married Lyle Cloyed on December 29, 1946, in Moravia, IA. To this union, 4 children were born, Richard, Ronald, Marsha, and Marie. Lyle and Virginia were lifetime farmers in rural Albia and taught their children to work hard.Virginia loved to sew for her family (her daughters Barbie and other dolls were the best dressed in the county!), knit, crotchet, and all kinds of crafts. She also enjoyed babysitting her grandkids and some of the Moravia Schools teachers children. She was a long time member of the Grace United Methodist Church. When Lyle retired, they moved into Moravia.She has lived at the Scotland County Care Center Nursing Home the last few years and passed away at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, MO. Virginia is survived by her children, Richard (Carol) Cloyed of Moravia, Marsha (Reginald) Marlin of Eldon, Marie (Don) Pauls of Eldon, and Ronald (Brenda) Cloyed of Blakesburg; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, David Cubit of Eugene, OR.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; her parents, Hollis and Mary; her stepfather, Clifford Cubit; and brothers, Robert Campbell and John J (Jack) Campbell. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Moravia, with pastors Christy Ehrle and Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will follow services at Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Monday, January 15, 2018, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Virginias family present from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. to greet family and friends. Guests are requested to wear red, her favorite color.An open memorial has been established to the family. Condolences may be left for the family at www.tharpfh.com.
