Warren  Proctor


Warren Calvin Proctor, age 97, of Blakesburg, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society in Ottumwa. He was born on July 18, 1921 at the family farm in Unionville to Marion and Ada (Stocker) Proctor.
Warren graduated from Unionville High School. He married Vera Louise Arnold on September 1, 1941 in Unionville, MO. He was a farmer his entire life. He also worked at Morrell's from 1956 -1973. He was a lifetime Farm Bureau Member, and was elected into the Farm Bureau Hall of Fame in 2013. Warren was a man of true hard work.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Proctor of Ottumwa; children, Floyd (Marge) Proctor of Unionville, Jo Kesterke of Dallas City, IL, Jim Proctor of Melrose, Debbie McKinney (Terry Strunk) of Dallas City, IL; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren; brother, Tom (Norma) Proctor of Palm Desert, CA, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Ada; infant brother, Francis; three sisters, Eldora Harris, Edith Whisler, Marjore Zimmer; son-in-law, Ron Kesterke, and daughter-in-law, Linda Proctor.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia with Pastor Ray Lyon officiating. Burial will follow services in Jay Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the Blakesburg Christian Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019, opening to the public at 1:00 p.m., and Warren's family will be present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday evening at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. Memorials may be directed to the Good Samaritan Society. Online condolences may be left for the family at sinnottfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are entrusted with Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia.
