William I. Bishop, 89, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at Lutheran Living.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery with Military Rites. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mulford Evangelical Free Church Library. William was born on May 5, 1928, in Birmingham, the son of Charlie L. and Ella Hawbaker Bishop. He married Anna Louise Wheeldon on June 1, 1950, in Ottumwa. She preceded him in death on Sept. 9, 2012.
Survivors include one daughter, Rose (Jim) Yoder; grandchildren, Rebecca Sawyer and Chad Bishop; great-grandson, Chase Bishop; step-grandchildren, Trent, Tia, and Todd Yoder; step-great-grandchildren, Garrett and Pauline Jwerks, and Charlotte, Susan, Sam and Henry Yoder; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son, Gordon; step-great-granddaughter, Ivy Jane Yoder; and siblings, Louis, Dorsey, and Harold Bishop and Annie McWilliams.
