Wilma Jane Gay, 93, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away February 11, 2017 at Ridgewood Special Care in Ottumwa. She was born July 8, 1923 in Wapello County, Iowa to Ernest and Emma Simmons Blew. She married Edwin Gay on June 6, 1942 in Lancaster, Missouri. Edwin passed away on December 1, 1985. Wilma was a farm wife.
She is survived by a son, Edwin (Linda) Gay Jr. of Tumtum, Washington; daughter, Darlene (Charles) Scott of Ottumwa, Iowa; four grandchildren, John Wesley Gay, Randy Scott, Linda Scott, Edwin Gay II; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Chastle, Van, and Darrell Blew; and six sisters, Norma Jean Swaim, Doris Stogdill, Marlene Pilcher, Joleen Brookhart, Beatrice Cormeny, and Seletha Wilbanks.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Marvin Martin officiating. Burial will be at the Dunnville Cemetery in Davis County, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday with the family present to greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
