Cheryl Lynn Fleming, 65, of Pulaski, Iowa passed away July 13, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Cheryl was born a true Virgo, September 19, 1951 to Milton and Mary (Queisner) Heiser. Her parents moved their family to Pulaski when she was in the 8th grade. She attended Davis County High School, graduating with the class of 1969. Upon graduation, she attended school at Wichita State University. Shortly after college she was united in marriage to Michael Fleming on September 8, 1973 in Bloomfield, Iowa. The two began their wedded life working together for Cheryl's father at the Pulaski Elevator. Together they became the loving parents to two children, Wray and Samantha. As she began her life as a mother she also began working for the United States Postal Service as a Postal Clerk in the Bloomfield office. She remained there until her retirement in 2014. In her retirement, she managed to master the game of solitaire and enjoyed bringing stacks of books home from the library to read. She liked to can vegetables from the garden that she and Michael cared for. Cheryl was an avid mushroom hunter and always enjoyed a good round of golf as well as being the president of the Current River Canoers Association, Pulaski Chapter.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Michael of Pulaski; her children, Wray Fleming of Pulaski, Samantha (Victor) Tira of Denver, Colorado; her mother and step-father, Mary (Melvin) Land; two brothers, David (Connie) Heiser and Fred Heiser, as well as many extended family and friends.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Milton Heiser and two sisters, Jo Ellen Ebeling and Amy Cassimatis.
As were Cheryl's wishes, her body has been cremated. Celebration of Life Services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017 with the family present to greet friends from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
