Cynthia "Jane"'s Story
Cynthia "Jane" Lowry, age 69, of Albia, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at her home in Albia. Cynthia was born on March 14, 1947 to Paul and Earline (Holmes) Hughes in Maddisonville, Kentucky. She grew up in Kentucky and later moved to Albia. She is blessed with three children, Leslie "Bubba", Donald "Wayne" and Annette. Cynthia worked for Trophy Glove in Albia before taking a job at the Oakwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as an environmental aide. She then accepted a job with the Monroe County Professional Management. She enjoyed playing solitaire and watching WWE wrestling. Her real joy in life was spending time with her family, friends and her three dogs. Cynthia is survived by her three children, Leslie "Bubba" (Pam) Lowry of Carlyle, IL, Donald "Wayne" (Rita) Lowry of Lovilia and Annette (Scott) Callen of Albia; her five grandchildren, Heather (Raymond) Kiews, Katelyn Callen, Treyton Lowry, Amy Lowry and Alex Lowry; her sister, Nancy Hughes, several nieces and nephews and her three dogs, Hope, Rookie and Daisy Mae. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Earline, her brother, Don Hughes; her sister, Pauline Cook and a great nephew, Xavier Cox. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 20, 2017, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Pastor Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Hiteman Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Cynthia's family present throughout to greet family and friends. An open memorial has been established to the COPD Foundation or the American Leukemia Society. Condolences may be left for the family at www.tharpfh.com.
