Donald "Duck" Lord, 66, of 806 S. Moore St., died at 2:28 p.m. October 2, 2017 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born July 21, 1951 in Rock Island, IL to James Edward and Wilma Louisa Means Lord. He married Brenda Rene Rupe on May 1, 1971.
A 1971 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Don earned a degree in Machine Technology from Indian Hills Community College. He had worked for Lund International and Performance Pipe, retiring February 1, 2017. Don had been a member of the Wapello County Sheriff's Reserve for several years and had previously served as the Deputy Marshall in Eldon.
Don was a life member of the NRA. He loved music and playing his guitar.
Surviving is his wife, Brenda; 3 daughters, Tara Roberts, Dawn (Dustan) Knapp and Cheri Lord all of Ottumwa; 6 grandchildren, Kalina, Collin, Nicholas, Cameron, Emily and Anakin; 2 great-grandchildren, Brendan and Remington; a sister, Deborah (Charles) Jones of San Diego, CA; 3 brothers, William Lord of Cambridge, IL, James Lord of Waynesville, MO and Marco Lord of Junction City, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Steven and Richard Lord.
His body has been cremated.
A time to celebrate his life will be 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Izaak Walton League.
