Ella Ruth's Story
Ella Ruth Buchholz (Ruby), 95, passed away on October 8, 2017 at her home in Flower Mound, Texas. She was born on April 14, 1922 in Salem, Iowa to Paul and Marie Ruby. She graduated from Fairfield High School in Fairfield, Iowa in 1940.
Ella Ruth married Leslie Buchholz on June 22,1940 in Ottumwa, Iowa. They were happily married for 76 years. In the early years of marriage, Ella Ruth was a stay-at-home mother. Later, she worked at Evans Junior High School in Ottumwa, Iowa as an Assistant Manager in the school cafeteria and she helped Leslie in their farming activities.
Ella Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Marie Ruby; her brother, Glenn Ruby; her great grandson, Phillip Randall Baird; and her husband, Leslie Buchholz.
Ella Ruth is survived by her two sisters, Vesta (Howk) and Mary (Northup); her daughter Linda (Phil) Baird and her son Larry (Marilyn) Buchholz; her grandchildren Scott Baird, Randy Baird, Kenton Buchholz and Regina (Carroll); her great-grandchildren Holly Baird, Paxton Baird, Brody Baird, Taylor Buchholz and Shelby Powell; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A visitation will be held at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home 740 S. Edmonds Lane, Lewisville at 6:00 to 8:00 on October 10th.
A memorial service will be held at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 S. Edmonds Lane, Lewisville, Texas at 10:00 am on October 11th. Burial will follow at Old Hall Cemetery 1200 McGee Lane Lewisville., TX.
