Guy Joseph Guiter, 65, of Ottumwa, died May 3, 2017 in Ottumwa.
He was born October 4, 1951 in Granville, OH to Loren F. and Nancy Jane Townsend Guiter. He married Donna Smith and they later divorced.
A 1970 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Guy had attended Ottumwa Heights College. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 30 years and farmed.
Joe enjoyed attending auctions and spending holidays with family. He was an avid sports fan and loved animals.
Surviving are two daughters, Amie Adams of Eddyville and Natalie (Jason) Gottwals of Franklin, TN; three sons, Scott (Michelle) Guiter of Knoxville, Justin Guiter of Altoona and Mike Guiter of Creston; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Kathryn (Kerm) Kirchoff of Overland Park, KS; three brothers, Frederick (Carol) Guiter of Batavia, Tom (Sherri) Guiter of Odessa, TX and Terry (Barb) Guiter of Ottumwa; several nieces and nephews; and his friend, Teresa Fogle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Christopher Guiter; and a son-in-law, Brian Adams.
His body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Burns Cemetery. A reception will follow at Faith Community Church in Eddyville.
