Kenneth LeRoy Black, 71, of 9704 94th Ave., died at 10:45 p.m. April 20, 2017 at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
He was born February 12, 1946 in Ottumwa to Forrest W. and Susie F. Thompson Black. On March 12, 1966 he married Carole Irene Wymore in Bladensburg.
Kenny was a 1964 graduate of Cardinal High School and served in the Iowa Army National Guard from 1966 to 1971.
He farmed and was a CDL semi-truck operator. He was a certified real estate appraiser, licensed in Iowa and Missouri for over 30 years.
Kenny was a member of the Bladensburg Christian Church and was devoted to his church. He enjoyed painting barn quilts and was one of the charter riders of the WHO Tractor Ride and drove for over 20 years.
Surviving is his wife, Carole; his children, Tracy Jo (Todd) Hughes of Madrid and Kent (Judy) Black of Batavia; two grandchildren, Allee Jo Black and Wylie Carl Black.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law Millard and Hazel Wymore and brother-in-law, Fred Gilliland.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Smith officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Monday with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bladensburg Christian Church or Hospice serving Davis & Wapello Counties, 927 Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa, IA 52501.
