Mary Sammons Johnson, 81, of Ottumwa died at 12:20 a.m. September 16, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society - Ottumwa.
She was born October 12, 1935 in Wapello County to Tennyson Eli and Sarah Oletha Henness Mills.
Mary had worked for 9 years at John Deere Ottumwa Works and for 18 years at Rolscreen, retiring in 1987.
Surviving are three daughters, Donna Leedall of Ottumwa, Debra Albers of Papillion, NE, Tess Frame of Ottumwa; two sons, Tenny (Carla) Sammons of Kahoka, MO and James (Michelle) Sammons of What Cheer; daughter-in-law Julie Sammons of Eddyville; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Richard Sammons and an infant son Rodney Sammons; a granddaughter Laura Albers; two sisters, Eleanor Prose and Maxine Beck.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Mel Kendall officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will be in Chillicothe Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Monday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Memorials may be made to the family.
