Melvin Carl Miller of Springfield, Missouri, died March 23, 2017, at Cox Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born in Abingdon, Iowa, May 17, 1938 to Glenn H. Miller and Irene Grinstead Miller. he married Anna Marie Smith August 17, 1982. A 1956 graduate of Batavia High School, he lived in Batavia, Iowa, and Packwood, Iowa, before moving to Fort Collins, Colorado, in 1965 and has resided in Springfield the last 32 years. He was a self-employed contractor in commercial and residential properties.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie; two daughters, Rhonda Sullivan of Casper, Wyoming, Paula (Dennis) Fealy of Palouse, Washington; a son, Steven (Sherry) Miller of Loveland, Colorado; at stepson, Dan Trout of Loveland, Colorado; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a brother, G. Michael Miller of Ottumwa; four sisters, Joan Van Blaricome of Batavia, Janet McClain of Ottumwa, Judy (Wayne) Rupe of Ottumwa, Lisa Miller of Altoon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Melvin Carl Jr.; two sisters, Marilyn Joyce Dage and infant Linda Kay.
His body has been cremated. Private inurnment will be in Batavia Cemetery at a later date.
