Sara Harris, 84, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away July 19, 2017 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born October 12, 1932 in Centerville, Iowa to George OToole and Velma Temple Lawson. She married Willis Cleon Harris on March 16, 1950. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2016. Sara worked at Bruces Furniture for many years as-well-as working for a flower shop, Quik Time in Drakesville, and as a Bookkeeper for area farmers. She was a member of the West Grove United Methodist Church.
Sara was an outgoing person who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked going to Casinos, playing BINGO, taking care of her flowers, and going to the Farmers Market in Bloomfield. She also like going to the Davis County Fair and the Iowa State Fair.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice (Larry Robinson) Dove of Centerville, Iowa; son, Rick (Pam) Harris of Bloomfield; six grandchildren, Ginger (Jason) Burgin, Gidget (Scott) Arnold, Haley Chance, Charlie (Erin) Harris, Travis (Kristi) Harris, Roxanne (Adam) Harris; twelve great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Helen Harris of Bloomfield; Siblings, Bill (Nancy) OToole, Betty Smith; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Wayne Adair; and special friends Jerry and Sharon Padget, Dale and Jackie White.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Georgia Adair; great-grandson, Zachary Barber; and father-in-law, Willis Harris.
Visitation with family present to greet friends will be from 2-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Open visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday. Cremation will follow the visitation and burial of the cremated remains will be at the West Grove Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established to her family.
