Bill  Ward
Ralph William "Bill" Ward, 87, of Ottumwa, died at 4:20 a.m. November 21, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.
He was born December 1, 1931 in Ottumwa to Ralph William and Helen Ruth Dixon Ward.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1949 he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. For the majority of his career, he delivered Guy's Potato Chips, retiring in 1992.
Bill was a life member of O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars as well as served on the firing squad for many years.
Surviving are three sisters, Susan Laudon, Melinda England and Yvonne Warrick all of Ottumwa; a niece, Debra Waterhouse and a nephew, William Stevens.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Katherine Stevens and the love of his life, Rosemary Russell.
His body has been cremated. Graveside services and inurnment will be 10 a.m. Monday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Alan Paris officiating. Military services will be conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Bill was my father figure for most of my younger years. I think about him all the time. He was a good man.
